Movie: "Serenity" (2005)

Hehe, I must be out of my mind who starts watching a Sci/Fi flick around Eight O'Clock in the morning. However, I didn't find myself busy with other things, so why the heck not? I'm sorry to say that this movie didn't really cut it all the way through. It fits into the Aeon Flux category, which means something you will have no problems watching, but it will slip your mind without leaving permanent marks of any kind.

So, what's this all about?

Sometime in a not too far away future Earth has become to overpopulated so that man kind has [equal to the traditional futurisquatic theme] expanded it's territory to other planet. It can all be compared with today's industrialized- versus development contries. This is the same deal, but we're talking planets here. All civilized planets has joined "The Alliance" (i.e. EU), which has it's common control organ. Of course, there are some planets not being a part of The Alliance. Take "The Reavers" for example, which is a barbarous nation of cannibalistic maniacs.

So, there is this foreseeing girl, River, who - due to her abilities - has been targetted by The Alliance. Yes, of course she knows about something that the government wants to hide. So, after being miraculous saved by her brother Simon, River and her brother is hiding on a rebellious spacecraft occupied by professional robberers and theifs.

By an accident, the crew discovers the truth about some things. Now, their great mission is to go "sky-wide" with this colossal discovery. Of course, fleet of The Alliance are constantly behind them.

Like I said, I didn't get bored.
Presumably a great deal of excitement for the younger generation.
