Movie: "The Bone Collector" (1999)

An old classic. Till was actually one of the first great movies I saw. I can recall how Swedish cable networks used to air it occasionally over the years, so it's not the first time I watch it. However, it's a really great film. Especially if you like Se7en or C.S.I, I find it doubtless that you will come to love this movie.

Det. Lincoln Rhyme (Denzel Washington) is considered to be one of the best forensic detective around the NYC precinct. However, since a serious accident, he's bound to a wheelchair, paralyzed from the neck down. Meanwhile (not yet acquainted with him), detective Amelia Donaghy (Angelina Jolie) finds a dead body on the railway track. The given conclusion will soon be that they're dealing with a serial killer; one who apparently knows one or two things about police work / forensic technology. It almost seems like the perpetrator is putting out clues. Weird.

However, after the "bagging and tagging" which Amelia does on her own (as the first officer on scene), the legend himself gets impressed. This is where he meets her. Their relationship (what's to think) starts abit lumpy. However, this isn't a sidewalk story of romance, but more of Sherlock Holmes business. Really an exciting film.

7/10
