A cold morning and first time Sushi experience..

I'm still not 100% recovered from my cold, the cough remains etc. When I first felt the breeze outside this morning, I was like "awawergh", still, wondered along to the bus stop. Later on, I heard that it was lots of minus degrees. I had noticed how my legs was frozen, but I had only thought like "Darn, should have worn long undewear". But when I entered the web climate page I read -11.8° C, gah, that's rough. Although the temperature has been dropping over the day.

Funny thing, on lunch I tried Sushi for the first time in my life (from what I can remember). The taste was, well, raw, but nice. The first ½ second I was close to get a hinch of not liking it, but 1/4 second later I felt the Yummyness :)

Bus taking too long..

A huge mystery. When I wait for the bus to roll me into the city, I see the same bus going the opposite dirrection, once, in unusual occasions twice, before my own bus is arriving. Today, the bus ran through the other side of the street three(!) times. The bus (my bus!) arrived like five seconds after the third opposite direction bus had passed by. Wicked, couldn't stop wondering about it. It was like the earth had opened up and swollowed one or even two of the other buses. It's like, about to go a few more blocks, then (from what I know..) just turn around and show up again. Gah, guess it's me, not being to familiar with how those bus lines work.

Anyways, when I finally(!) got back home to my beloved one, she had managed to pull a few bakery tricks. She never stops surprising me. This was a real kick, actually, I'm eating a piece of sponge cake while typing. Mmmm, yummy, I gotta slurp it quick n' slick so I won't stain the keyboard with sugar-sticky fingers. Messy computer equipment is one of the worst things.

I really long for tomorrow. Hopefully, my new bed will be delivered. Can't wait.. ;D

A sick man enjoying food!

Damnit, wish I could get better. My throat is rather scratchy than sour, making loud cough attempts, but it's all stuck. Just that scratchy feeling, gah. Can't wait till I get all better again, regaining my usual speed. I mustn't put too much strain on my heart when having the cold, since it's known to be real hazardous. Still, I'm always in a rush, twen!ty things (at least) running through my head, all at once. So, hope I pass my next EKG test ;)

Anyways, I havn't been posting the traditional family dinner lately.
So, here's an update!

Salmon beef, to be eaten with mayonnaise and red pepper.

The wonderful
Ciabatta bread.

Spaghetti with meatsauce (cooked with a fungus mixture).

Hope this puts your mind at rest! :)

MSN selling ad-space in regional parts..

Seems that way. Havn't been much of a Messenging guy the last couple of months, but when I looked on a friend's screen I saw commercial advertisements for a Swedish TV show. How funny, the world of advertisement is growing..

The new sofa with table got installed!

Weeee, nice nice nice. I didn't call in sick, although I think I'm in a fever. However, it has become better over the day. When I woke up I felt like a big mess and my princess said my eyes looked swollen. Anyways, the new furniture has been installed. I wasn't there, but She took the time wailing them UPS guys in. Can't wait till I get home to see it. I will shoot a photo or two, I promise.

Sick!

No fun at all...

The big letterbox!

Gosh, I was really surprised when I heard someone behind my door earlier today. When I open the door, I see an old friend's mom. She has with her a really big bundle with letters, or well, at least snailmail envelopes :) My friend has went on a cruise and I was Eric's lodger back in the day, then he went fishing and my snailmail was stuck for a year or so. Heh, so, today I've been catalogizing all the past year's mail. Lots of crap, advertising and such, I saved like 1/20 in average. Anyways..

The new seat!

What you see is the first piece of furniture that I installed in my new apartment. The seat is adjustable so I can almost have it line-like if I feel for having a nap while watching boring sitcoms. I had some issues with getting the damn thing from the store (other side of the city). First it looked kind of bad, but finally an old friend came to my rescue. A warm hug to you Jörgen, you rock this boat right!

My mom's second cousin is a star!

Oh yeah. He's the head manager slash superintendent for Police Education in Umea University, one of northern Sweden's largest universities. It feels so awsome, he's like the lead star of all the young law enforments in this part of the country. WOW! I can barely believe it's true. I'm related to a living legend.

This man has a busy schedule though, that's one thing for sure. I've made several attempts contacting him, but he is only righteous for short [memo-looking; more than letter~] lines for answer. Sometimes it's all about respect and admiration. So, a man of few words or just a pumped up schedule, it doesn't really matter. Bertil is a Swedish hero from what I know, and I honour him.

Profile photo from the university website:

Oh, he was on Swedish public access radio just a couple of days ago, talking about the financial cutbacks which has made the government rationalize it's supplies of education. In simple terms, the government wants to move all police education to the capital area. A real bad move, in my opionon. The crime spree is a fullphase fact - a cause for concern. Even in the nice, quiet north country areas, it's reality. It may be a peaceful place for funny accents and snowmobiles in a short summary, but crime elements is moving fast, so what we really need is an expansion of the current supplies.

Anyways, I made a short audio mixdown from my recording.
Just hit the play button below! (you may have to click twice)

That's all for tonight. By the way, my moving in is a great success. Got the curtain rods up tonight. However, the largest window is to wide to be covered, need to pay the warehouse a (re)visit tomorrow to get some sort of in-the-middle-hook. Very well, tomorrow..

Damnit..

I tried really hard embedding this fun Flash cut that I stumbled upon on my wild web cruize. Anyways, I had to give up, it refused to show up the right way. Guess the author must have leech-protected the bare .swf so that it could only be executed from his particular domain name, or something like that. Awergh, never mind. It was really just a foul mouth thingie, a visual piano that had a voice replying "Cunt!" in differents pitches regarding on where you click. Talk about being bored..

Actually, this day has been a big adventure. Me and my beloved fiancé went on a little shopping trip to get things for my new apartment. It took us more than just a couple of hours, bus back and fourth. The sad thing is that the vacuum cleaner that i bought was delivered with the wrong pipe. I can't "build" the telescope, I've tried all sorts of combinations, damn thing. I'm sure that some customer has mixed the pipes; just too bad I took the last package. Anyways, I'm saved by a two year guarantee.

My honey even managed to get the curtain rods up. I first thought I had the wrong sort of metal consoles on the wall, so I was about to give up. Took a walk to clear my head, went up to the local mall and bought toilet paper, light bulbs and a box of ice cream. When I got back she showed me the kitchen, with those curtain rods fast as can be. Damn she's good! ;)

Anyways, havn't been up with meal photos lately, so here's what we had for dinner the last couple of days. Btw, today I had fried potatoes with meatballs, havn't had that dish for like ages, and damn it felt good. Now I'm just sitting here putting words on the screen, while she's in the kitchen working on some homemade pizza. This is gonna be great, I can feel it already. The smell of garlic is in the air, oh lord please take me there..

Spaghetti with meat sauce.

Farmer's beef with potatoes.

I wish you all a really nice weekend. Me myself, tomorrow we're going back on tour, now when those rods are ready, we can start looking for some curtains. I'm not really sure if it's going to get black or white. Probably something in between, or perhaps, hmmm, it's really hard..

Friday pizza!

This was the bomb!

My beloved fiancé tried homemade pizza for fun, and the result was outstanding. The Onsala sausage really showed it's taste in these flying sausage-looking perls. They made me realize that life can sometimes taste like a TMNT strip.

..but I still doubt that Raph or Don could carry this one all the way home, their stuffs is newbie stuffs, while this here is the bomb with a capital B.

Famous Dead People Database!

I may be strange, but I find it quiet fun to browse IMDb, reading the short cause-of-death one lined parenthesis mark about famous actors and directors. The ultimate mystery sign is of course like i.e. Pier Paolo Pasolini: homicide.

Now, I just opened the monthly Flashback Newsletter with tips about interesting places on the web. So now I've found..

» The Famous Dead People Database ♠ « ..

What can I say? Real interesting stuff to read!

IRC is the shit!

Ooh my gosh..

I've been running the I R C marathon, for more than a couple of times. Heh, anyways, my IRC-addicted life ran between the Christmas 1996 --> 2002; when it slowly began to reach it's dropdown. Everyone turned the old Internet Relay Chat their backs, walking the mainstream line of Instant Messaging (in 95% of the times - MSN) instead. I just had to acclimatise, although I'd be more than happy to live the rest of my life through a sharp-cornered query box. Never the less, that was a joke! :) I just made a quick check on what plus who's alive and what's not. Quakenet was the latest network. Back in -96 i started of at Undernet, hardheaded IRC warriors flamed the networks. Takeovers was a common thing. Now, past..

Thank God it's Friday..

The final clean-out..

Imma drop the keys to the old appartment tomorrow morning, so today is the day for the final clean-up. I'm done with like 90% so just a few minor things to fix, like vacuum cleaning for instance :)

Relief

I didn't know that anyone could get so relieved by a misplaced cell.. However, my sweet princess finally got her TCP/IP aimed the right way. SkyCom really knows how to deliever!

Oven Pancake is real!

Indeed..

The sight of it; at a premature stage..

About fifteen minutes later, it looked like this..

A while later it came out, the rind was a bit crouncy but everything else was perfect. Ate it with cream and blueberry jam.

Yummy!

The nicest cake ever!

First of all, I have to salute this cake. My beloved one made it yesterday, so sweet and delicious. I know it, not even having tasted it - yet. It got late, we decided to save the cermony till today. But still, no space in the mini fridge. Gah! We had to run down to the old hallway kitchen in the basement, "stashing" the cake there. Hope no evil exchange students has stolen it, then not even my beloved one will be able to dry my tears out..

..AND (like this wasn't enough)..

She also bakes bread. When I tasted this bread I quickly decided that it would be the end of buying shitty bread from the convenience store. From now on we (she) bakes the breakfast bread, 'cuz it tasted gorgeous. Can't describe this with words, too bad the photo doesn't come with a taste..

We ended yesterday's daily missions with re-covering the sofa with a new sofa dress. It was the first time I did this kind of thing, altough it – as you can see – went really smooth, since we stopped guessing what those three holes was there for, that is..

To all you fellows out there, have a nice one! :)

Broken key, yummy bakery, and fridge full!

Here's Sunday's morning bakery. Sweet brownies, they are awsome!

Sunday was a bright day. Me and my fiancé took a walk to Willy's Supermarket. When we arrived and went to take a shoping car, I noticed that one car was stuck with a 10 SEK coin inside it. I used my key, trying to pick the coin. Here's the result..

So, I was charged 102 SEK for a new appartment key instead of getting 10 coins richer. Blah!

However, when we got back to her appartment we managed to fill both the fridge and the fruit basket. The fridge is a mess, just received a quick message about that her landlord now is talking about a new fridge _and_ freezer. The follow-up on this one will be interesting..

So, today Imma start moving..

Moving is a heavy job!

Yeah, not my turn yet though. My fiancé is the lucky one this time, moving from a student hallway room to an own apartment (this one) is sweet. The only downside of the new space is that the big fridge with freezer will probably be replaced by a small fridge cabinet with only a small slot for keeping things half-frozen. The current fridge is from the 70's or something, so the landlord has already promised that it will be replaced, only that they will need to bring the chainsaw if she's gonna get a brand new "full tower", so my guess is that they won't.

Not so fun if you're the kinda guy who wants to build up a storage in case of war. But however, the new apartment is really great. That's the _only_ downside I could think of, everything's nice otherwise; really nice! :)

I'm in a rush, really, but as usual I feel a need to post photos. The chronical order is backside, so the photos in the bottom of the page is from when we started to move stuff, and up here is the result.

Bags and boxes; lots of work to be done!

The old cellar room she moved out from..

I have to say this meal was really delicious, after moving all those boxes filled with heavy stuff. A funny thing is that I was really full and loaded after this meal. The sausages is really tasty, the quote on the cover "Onsala – med en smak du minns" is not placed there for nothing, oh, what I'm meaning to say is that it's more than just PR. The taste is really something..

Can't say how much I appreciate the taste of red onion.
It's God's gift to man kind.

Garbage food for lunch..

After all, it's Friday!

I think I've earned a couple of burgers. The meals is not worth the money though. Them french fries is nothing but grease, plus it doesn't fill my need in being full/satisfied. So, I made it the smooth way.

2x Cheese Supreme burgers (2 * 20 SEK)
1x Chicken BLT burger (15 SEK)
..and non-carbonated water to drink, free of charge!

A nice meal to the cost of under sixty nickles, way to go Carlos!

Such a lovely dinner!

This was lovely, I can assure you.

Didn't take much time to prepare, although the taste was delicious. We used simple yogurt for the sauce, which made the sour taste perfectly balanced. Sweet. Anyways, up for tonight's schedule is..

The man, the myth, the legend.

Efterlyst kicks ass!

Total Commander v7.02 FINAL

Wow, I've been a huge fan of Total Commander since the early days (Windows Commander). Ever since I found out that a Chinese mastermind called Shanny had an expansion/modification pack called "TCEE" (Total Commander Embellished Edition) I have never used anything else than that. The downside on this was being stuck with an outdated version since Shanny seems a bit shy, he hasn't – using his own words – "spread the software overseas". He didn't believe there would be an interest. Guess if he was wrong.

However, I finally found Shannys homepage. Managed to crosslink through the Chinese language and found an e-mail link. So, I sent an e-mail to Shanny himself, asking him about his project. The next day I had an answer. So, now I'm really proud, I've changed a couple of lines with the Chinese mastermind himself - Shanny. However, since he drops his mod pack free of charge, I recommend to all those who is looking for the ultimate file browser, to check out TCEE.

» Shanny's Space «

The whole site is in Chinese but you can easily navigate to the direct download link. Well, that's all for now :)

Salmon for dinner!

Tasted delicious.
No need for further explanation, pictures tells us more than a thousand words.

This is how it locked while still in the frying pan.
I had to try a little taste, yummie was my immediate response.

When dinner stood ready on the table I felt close to heaven.

When I look at the result of my photo I can't help laughin, regarding the amount of potatoes on my plate. I just can't help it, sorry. I remember when I was into the RPG thing, my fellow travellers used to call me Sir Eatalot :)

Umea - Arlanda Airport

Yeah, flew back and forth just over the day. Went to a briefing at Nova Park Conference, Knivsta. It was sort of interesting, especially the ones who talked about PR and smart selling points. However, towards the end I must admit I felt kinda tired.

Anyways, I noticed that nothing is free of charge during the flights nowadays. I remember back in the late 90's, when you got coffee/tea with a sandwich and a small piece of chocolade. That was the times, oh, that was the times.. Rumours tells me that SAS flights departing from Sturup Airport (Malmö) still offers their travellers that old free-of-charge tray. Down south still kickin' it..

Great for us nerds!

Of importance to the development of technology, I would actually rather say. Anyways, what I'm talking about is this: » textfiles dot com « — a great resource for old textfiles; which most of us – presumably – though were long time abandoned. So, start diggin you mad old phreakerz! ;D

Chicken for dinner!

Mmmmm, I really love chicken, I can tell you that much.
It was a couple of weeks since the last time we had chicken, there was half the bag left with smooth nice chicken breast fillets, that just _had_ to be eaten.

This was how the filetts looked when I took them out of the oven. My beloved fiancé wanted to take them out about ten minutes earlier, but I insisted on keeping them in the 200 degree heat a bit longer. Furtively, I sneaked the temperature up to a level of closer to 300 degrees, just to spice it up the last couple of minutes. What you see above is the result, in my opinion, beautiful. It tasted really great, we both agreed.

And dinner was servered..

Couldn't stay awake..

First we saw Frank Miller's Sin City in HD, which I can saw was a blast. Really awsome movie, the first ten minutes I was kinda confused, since the story seemed so disrupt I couldn't really get a grip on it. My fiancé said "I don't understand anything", which I couldn't say I did neither. Couldn't find anything better to say than just "It's probably ment to be a big quiz in the beginning". And I was right, all them pieces fell together and the movie was great. Wonder if the comic strips are as sweet as the movie. I bet critics find the movie worse, since that's the way it usually goes. Well, Sin City got to be my 2:nd High Definition movie experience. Flawless!

Later on yesterday night, we decided to end the evening by watching Falling Down (ft. Michael Douglas / Robert Duvall), after getting the tips from a colleague. The movie was nice, but around 1 AM my eyes began it's shut to slumber so I knew the Swedish sleeping spirit being (John Blund) was calling me. Gonna resume the playback here and now on this wonderful sweet Sunday! :-)

Ice cream is awsome!

Yeah, me and my wonderlady has just eaten some sweet Carte d'Or ice cream. Their new taste sensation (Dulce de Leche) is wonderful, we chose to mix it with Carte d'Or Vanilla, yummie!

We've also watched a couple of Kyle XY episodes today. Getting up to date on the second season by the end of the coming week, hopefully. So, the HD film experience had to wait until yesterday, 'cuz the day we were supposed to see Cubic; we ended up watching The Notebook (Lousy Definition).

However, tonight Sin City is scheduled to be reviewed.
So stay tuned folks!

..and it don't stop!

It's wonderful. It's Friday afternoon, I got home earlier than first expected, plus when I enter the kitchen I see this.

Could it get any better? Yummie, I've eaten two of them already, and I can guarantee you this: That plate is going to be empty by the end of the night ;)

So, anyways, have a good one, peeps!

Yummie!

My sweet lady has been obsessed in bakery. This Thuesday was the Swedish cream bun celebration day (had to look the word up in a dictionary, hrhr). So, when I got home in the efternoon, I had lots of these good-tasting sweets. Yummie, do I need to tell you that I ate 'em all? :)

Well, not the same day. I thought I'd save a couple of cream buns to the next day. So, when I came home on Wednesday afternoon, I was aimed by the smell of sweet growth. I'm not bullshitting you, the plates had multiplied, and there was nice cinnamon buns, LOTS of them! =) Wow, I ate lots. However, we still have like two carrier bags left, plus we went to share the joy with the friendly African neighbourhood.

Like this wasn't enough. Here comes the final tough to it.
When I got home today, I had this big cake waiting for me.
I took a big piece (1/4) and it tasted like heaven, lovely!

So, what's up next? I do not have a single clue, since my lady is into this whole bakery thingie I guess just about anything could happen.

I finally went to get those banana boxes..

It was an hell of a ride, heheh. Went to the Hemköp Supermarket and begged the clerk for boxes. She asked how many I needed. I was like "Erhm, four or five perhaps.."; she was like "Aaalready then, we'll see what we can find". She came back with five banana boxes.

Unfortunaly, you cannot file banana boxes like you do with ordinary (tm) moving boxes, so I had to carry them like a huge friggin' tower all the way to my princess. She was happy, although I did not have the time to see her smile, had to bike home to get my camera, since I knew she had baked lots of sweet rolls. So, I've taken a couple of photos, which I will post later on.

Now I'm off, we gonna see Cubic in 720p HD format, it'll be my first High Definition movie experience, on a 17" laptop screen for that matter, smooth! ;)

Chainsaw Massacres and banana boxes?

No match, huh?

Well, it wasn't an easy thing to pick a subject for this post, I can tell you that much. Anyways, me and my wonderful fiancé has seen both of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies (remakes from 2003 and 2006). So, what to say. Splatter action at it's top, or am I wrong? Dunno, the whole splatter thingie isn't really my bag. I just wanted to get off to sleep. It feels good to have seen the movies though :)

Now the next project is the banana boxes for moving into my new appartment. Havn't got the exact date for moving in yet (since it's sort of a 2:nd hand deal), but my guess is I'm on my way pretty soon. It's going to be just great!
