Wish I could help everyone

You see, many of my fellow beings is being either physically incarcerated, or possessed by demons.

I wish I could cast them all out; giving inner peace to these born wonderful people. Unfortunally, bottom line is that one can only save one's own soul. Let's pray for the best!

Back in town!

Yesterday's bus trip to IKEA, Sundsvall took us all day. As usual, when we were strolling around in there, I was this close to getting lost. It's like a huge maze, when you can't get the painted path on the floor in your head like two plus two.

However, we purchased some things of great importance. First of all, the chest of drawers from the RAMBERG collection. Now we have the bed, the bed bedside table, plus now also this chest of drawers. The whole collection - but the wardrobe; and that would be really unnecessary, since the apartment has built-in wardrobes. In addition to this important piece, we also purchased two cheap bookshelves, and two practical chairs for the kitchen.

It took us the whole Sunday putting it all together. Anyways, it turned out really nice, just as I had thought it to look. First I was thinking about having both them bookshelves side by side, with the television/bench to the left. However, my lady declared that it would look much better with the telly in the center, with one bookshelf on each side of it. She had absolutely right. Amazing woman..

A delicious meal for dinner!

At first, it wasn't planned as something but a pure, casual, dinner. But when I recalled myself having that piece of Gouda cheese left, it all went on. So I chopped the cheese into small pieces, and pour it down with just a little milk in the pan. Then we let it swallow. After a few minutes of almost boiling, my fiancé claimed "Darn, the milk clashes with the cheese". Well, it actually looked like we was having problems. Anyways, around five minutes later, it started looking plus smelling real good. So we added some crushed tomatoes, just to make it even more fun. For foundation, cooked potatoes with fried meatballs. Yummie!

Some salad with red union made the runway ;)

Do I need to tell y'all how much we enjoyed this meal?
Probably not!

Gosh, the interpretation of the Swedish descriptions plus time validating/inserting links, it took me some time. How lucky I don't have too much work today. Coffee though, yummie, now perhaps, oh yes.

They have got a new family member

His name seems to be Dogge, probably inspired by the Swedish [use-to-be] rap star. I just recieved this news over e-mail. Fredrik seems happy. I must say I admire the will power that must be required to face the beast in good and bad. Taking three walks a day, training him to be pleasent against other human being, and so on. There is lots of things to be done.

However, I have a strong feeling that this cute little puppy will follow Fredrik and his fiancé along with the years. They will all grow old together. Just like a big happy family!

Congratulations, for having this new family member..
Salute!

The movie flew by..

Friday
A week of hard work has come to an end.
Now, relaxation..

Saturday
Whoa!

It was finally time to watch this piece of film. "Drugwars - The Camarena Story". It's a mini-serie containing three episodes á 1h25m of fighting merciless drug trafficers from Mexico. I think this was at a early stage of Benicio Del'Toros career. However, even though the story felt "stuck" in between, we managed to blaze the whole serie. 4½ hours. Now, been there - done that! I'm not sure about when the DVD will leave it's place in the DVD collection the next time. We'll see, we'll see :D

Sunday
Me and my fiance took a nice trip to the museum. Lots of cool gadgets from the past, including an impressing collection of winter skis. Among others those being used by famous Vasa race celebs. After we had visited the museum I felt for something crazy. I've lived here for almost a year and have still never seen the west(ern) part - Umedalen. So we took the bikes and went on a real cruise. Passed by a nice place were kids were playing bandy on the street, how nice.

So, now we've reach a bright new Monday. I'm actually just waiting for the end of this week, because on Saturday we'll be on our way. The local neighbour community where I live has gathered fonds for a trip to IKEA. We'll leave early in the morning.

Awsome Sunday bike trip!

Beautiful weather. I had never seen the city museum, so first we went there. Lots of old gadgets, especially worth noticing the great collection of skis. They had collected skis being used by Wasa race celebs like fourty years ago. Really cool. Not forgetting the usual museum stuff, on this very museum really focused on the North Sweden way of living. I went into a little wood cabinet where they two dolls depicting human being from ~100 yrs ago where living was tough(er?). At first I almost thought they was real, sort of scared me, heh..

I also managed to get a sweet photo of the wonderful woman who is to become my wedded wife.

Then, after the museum trip I had an idea (well, I've actually had it in mind for quite some time ^^). I've lived in this city for about a year, but never been to the far west area of the city, where a discussed loony bin was raised in the 1920:s. Lots of wack shit (lobotomy, Insulin shock therapy, just to mention some of it) took place there. It's only very vaugly described in Swedish Wikipedia articles. However, I wanted to see those buildlings. The bicycle jurney to this part of the city was a couple of kilometres, I think the round trip must have been closer to 15 kilometres. However, it was real fun.

As we got there we relaxed with a Coca-Cola. Evidently, the whole area of buildings was hard to discover though. It's told to have been reformed into kindergarten, convenience pharmacy, and suchlike. However, at least I had wanted to see the famous "chicken". Well, rumour says that it's a strange looking cook/chicken on the top of the roof on one of the highest buildings in [what was] 'the loony bin complex'. If this thing crowed every morning, is to me a mystery.

The Jackal

This movie had it's release as late as 1997. I knew it a couple of years ago, but during the opening screen-play I thought like 2000-2001 something. First of all, the intro splash looked good, reminded me about the splash (there showed at the end of the film) in the second and third Bourne films (Greengrass cuts). Well, excellent anyways. The movie was around two and a half hours long, but I lasted. However, felt like a pace-up somewhere near the middle. After half an hour I thought "Cool, this story will never end", then after the mid-drop everything started to clear. My fiance was already asleep when the film started at 9.30 PM. She must have had a busy day ;)

A cool thing was around ten minutes to eleven, I heard the familiar sound of a bouncing ball from somewhere outside. I looked out the window and saw three young lads with a basketball. How awsome, summer is on it's way :-)

Bourne Ultimatum

I've just been watching this film. It was okey! Actually the real story highlights came along with the end, so it wasn't one of those films you just wanna turn of when it's half an hour left. No, this was ok. The FX was a bit blown over the edge though, but I guess that's way to go in Hollywood. Reminded me about Die Hard 4.0, which also delivered mad action with no realistic grip whatsoever. Anyways, an ok film. The older lady ("Landy") reminded me about one of those Desperate Housewives, hehe.

Simpsons - The Movie

I know, it's been a while since the release, but I don't have so much time left for watching movies nowadays. However, I just watched this ~1.20h long piece of film. It felt, erhm, well sort of like three ordinary ~25m episodes cut together. Only that perhaps this piece should have a least some credit for the storyboard. It actually had a story, contemporary indeed.

Spring is finally here..

Today's morning I really enjoyed the bicycle ride to work. The temperature had still not risen much above zero degrees celcius, but you could really feet that something is going on. The light is so much stronger than just a couple of days ago. The melting process will work itself through really fast now. I can tell.

The fireplace!

No picnic bog, but still a sausage ring. I guess we could have picked a better day for this event, since it felt like something between just snowing and snowstorm. Well, it went well after all. When we first got the idea of doing this, it wasn't snowing like this. Then, as I rushed my bicycle getting a thermos at her apartment, it started. But at this point it hadn't been a cool thing just blowing the whole thing off, now would it? :)

Movie: "Indecent Proposal" (1993)

This was tonight's hotshot. A mediocre flash from the 90's, really. The plot could really just aswell has been put on the screen during the 80's, but I guess the director had been sleeping for quite a while before he could fetch the pen. The story? About a couple who needs quick bucks. They go to Vegas to bet their last loan on the casino. Shit hits the fan and they run flat broke. The sollution? A millionaire offering a million(!) dollars cash. The price? A night with the lady. At first they go like "No way!", but after only a night's reconsideration they find it a good sollution. After all, "it's just sex". Anyways, things [of course] get's complicated. In fact, the movie was so "slow" that I needed to divide the watching in three parts (Saturday night 1/3; Sunday morning 1/3, Sunday afternoon 1/3).

My nephew also turned nine this very Sunday. The years pass by really fast. Amazing, when come thinking about it. Since I'm not a millionaire (not even close, yet) I could only afford him a postcard and a fifty-note. However, they say it's the thought that counts. I also heard he had a PS3 console. The downside was that they ordered it from the States to get off cheaper, not knowing that the US-imported gaming consoles comes with NTSC chipsets. So, now they look for a sollution. I really hope that it will work out some way..

Sushi!

This is the second time I eat sushi in my entire Life. It's a nice dish, really. Wonder if the Swedish bought sushi is the real deal, or if you have to go to Japan to get it.

If only all years in elementary would have been like the months in this building. This was the best of days, sweet memories. Nothing else is worth mentioning, really. What happened to you guys? Simme? Patrik? Kim? Hampus? Norén? Damnit! Time is an element; always on the run. Actually, I think I should have timestamped this post at 1998, if Blogger's even 19xx compatible ;)

10:th of April - it's all good!

Pizza is now to consider an everyday cermony.
Or is it something else? ;)

PS.
What does the banana do for the picture?
Best answer wins a trip to New Mexico!

Music on the run

Heya!

Oh gosh. My old gadget, the Creative MuVo V200. So brilliant, it has always served me well. No bugs, excellent battery time even with cheap budget AAA's. In short, an excellent music player.

V100
I bought it like three years ago, and it's still running fine. I remember once being incautious, trying to stick the plug into a car stereo. It fell in pieces on the car floor. I managed to pick the pieces together in my pocket, although I was sure my music player had reached it's funeral. So, as I'm addicted to music, I spent a spotstyver to get myself a new player instantly. Bought a similar (same 512MB space) player from a friend. Although only after a couple of hours I realized that the battery-usage of the V200 must be magic, _or_ this new player really shitty. I won't spit the manufacturer out loud, but I know that they've reach bankruptcy anyways (makes sense). Anyways, when I managed to put the tiny components together, watching the LED display light up, I feel like I'm halfway to heaven. So, I used plain adhesive tape around the stick, making it not 'split up' again. Ever since this day, about one and a half year ago, the player works perfectly again. So, there is really no need for me to change. However, I've decided to get a new one. Strangely, the V200 model seems discontinued. Furthermore, searching for '+muvo +v100' gives a lot more result. The difference seems to be the lack of FM radio support in the V100 model. I suppose Creative found out that the FM radio support wasn't a worthy feature. Instead, the - new - V100 sticks comes with up to 2GB. Gosh, the prices are really low aswell. So, today I'm ordering a black V100 (2GB) stick. Can't wait to hold it..

The most precious day ever!

Today my beloved fiancé ran a pregnancy test. It turned out positive. It was real simple to read too. "GRAVID" it read (which is Swedish for "pregnant"); instead of those misleading bars that some tests uses. So, the 10:th of April 2008 is the happiest day of my life. I'm going to be a father. Wow, I can hardly believe it. It's so amazing, so fantastic.

Thank you God.

But hey, in fact, I can believe it now. It's been a couple of months. Nah, you didn't miss out on a post. I'm not really sure about who of my friends that should be the first to hear about these news. Therefor, I made this cunning little thing. I smashed a blog post up - a lot later. You could never be sure when I announced this. The important thing is the date stamp, which is set to the 10:th of April.

So, there's actually a chance that You are the first one to read this. Carry on the news, or do whatever you feel like. Like I said, since I didn't know whom to tell, I chose to do it like this. Oh by the way, she is giving birth around Christmas.. No questions marks? Good!

..'cuz that's all folks.
My life now finally has meaning.
Now cherish your beloved ones, and LIVE! :-)

Life!

An question mark should really be more justified than the exclamation mark that became the period of this topic. This last week I've been having lots of thoughts about Life. Looking at the Wikipedia article on the subject, I wonder how I should react on the fact that everything seems to be forced rational, forced logical; forced explainable. Wicked really, 'cuz some things you just cannot explain, like why/how/when my internal light switched itself(?) on.

PeaZip (GNU)

Yesterday I was tipping you guys about free software. As compression tool I mentioned 7-Zip. Now as today, I've discovered another opensource tool. It's called PeaZip and seems really nice. Integrated res-files for a handfull of other [open] compression tools; using the PeaZip GUI to compress files through them different command line executables - flawless! PeaZip also have it's own file format (.PEA). Furthermore, PeaZip also supports uncompression aswell as compression of the earlier mentioned 7-Zip file format. So the front-end built in for 7-zip would almost become superfluous, so to speak.

peazip.sourceforge.net/

Enjoy!

G N U / Opensource

Just thought it would be a great thing to do, promoting a couple of them awsome tools, available at no cost, even sourcecode for those who has the skills to make improvements. So, here's a selection of free software that you should really get a look at:
  • OpenOffice
  • Audacity
  • Gimp
  • LiVES (Linux/UNIX only)
  • 7-Zip
Of course, that was only a handfull. Like it was some meaningful gesture, giving all you people out there leeching your softwarez something else to think about. I mean, from my point of view, using commercial software is a way of saying that the whole thing is okey with you. Damnit, I know that coding is what lots of people do for a living, a real fun way of life aswell. However, I think that software developers should focus more on to profit on commercial business licenses. Ordinary folks should be able to use it at home. However, like I said. Really awsome that there are real people, like them heroes behind applicatino sets like The GIMP.

It's so nice to be alive.

Oswald State Penitentiary!

Me and beloved one is watching this serie. We've already seen the first and second season. Tonight we've ran almost halv-way through the third season. Gosh, I remember when Swedish television sent the show back in somewhere around 2002-2003. However, I only recall scenes, and since you missed an episode every now and then, you didn't get the whole picture by watching the tub. This is much better!

Tomorrow is just another Monday, weee! :)

The kitchen sink went disastrous!

Today Sunday I made a foolish mistake. It all began when I was mentally disturbed by a slight scratch on the kitchen sink. The score had occured when I was cutting up a can of body oil (to get the last drops out) for my beloved one, using my hunting knife. I was not pleased with the little cut, even though it was hardly visible. A true little mishap.

Anyhow, I figured I could use the straw side of the kitchen sponge, trying to sharpen down the cuts so that I could slide my finger across the dish tray without feeling it (compulsive force behaviour?). At this early theoretical stage, everything was fine. Then I pulled it to action.

Here's the result!

"ASDF" ..like us old hacks use to give it a shout!

So, right now I’m just trying to ”let go” of the issue, which seems to be easier said than done. I will have to live with this little "thing" on my kitchen sink. Gah, horrible thought. I'm trying to figure out some nice way to cover it up. The coffee machine?

Pasta sauce makes a great difference.

Yes, indeed it does.

Me and my fiance tried cooking up a simple sauce mix with the meal. The process of eating the meal was so delightful. I just sat there with the fork and enjoyed life at it's fullest.

Me in the kitchen!

Gosh, I really need to get proper chairs for my little table.

The dish was tasty thought. Indeed delicious :)

KpyM Telnet/SSH Server!

Wow, I thought remote console terminals was a case for UNIX systems. Today I found this.

It's an open source(!) software that will install as a service daemon on your Windoze machine. It will let remote users connect through telnet/SSH and enter your machine on an ordinary DOS console. Unsure about practical use, but at least I thought it was a really cool connex gadget :)
