Movie: "Awake" (2007)

Really great film, actually. The synapsis on the cover tells me that it's a story told by one of the little group of people who doesn't fall into REM sleep during anaesthetic (for surgery). This is true, but it's more to it than just this. It's a shocking story, shocking indeed.

Clay Beresford (Hayden Christensen) is only twenty-two years old, but still one of the richest persons in city. The only thing he suffers is from heart failure. He has got to find a donor since time's running out his current ticker.

Earlier, Dr. Jack Harper (Terrence Howard) managed to rescue Clay's life, when he had his first major heart attack. So, some sort of relationship has devolved between Clay and Harper. So, even though his mother (played by Swedish actor Lena Olin) think they should grab the best surgeon available, Clay persists in that Dr. Harper shall perform this life decisive surgery when it's time.

So..
Funny anecdote by the way. My fiancé almost seemed disturbed by how I repeatedly bad-mouthed Sam (Jessica Alba) for being a gold digger. I mean, Clay had a bad heart, even staying outside in the rain was a real strain to him. So, how could he ever satisfy her sexual needs? It's so obvious that she's like "Oh what the hell, he's rich, so whenever he dies I'm homesafe for that matter". Funny anecdote indeed. Guess who laughed the most in the end?
