Movie: "Finding Neverland" (2004)

Nice film. Honestly, at first I had this nagging feeling that I would see a movie for the second time, but I was wrong. This is the first time i watch Finding Neverland, and it was truly a remarkable and amazing story. Evidently, it's also the true story about how the author of the well-known fairytales about Peter Pan got the ideas.

Here you meet with James Barrie (Johnny Depp), a man who set up theatre play's for a living. James hasn't exactly been drowning in success lately. Actually, everything looks kind of dark, with the media giving him bad reviews and all. Now, by a coincidence, he meets Sylvia Davies (Kate Winslet), and nonetheless her four children: Michael, Peter, Jack and George.

The kids father passed away recently, so their mother Sylvia is the only one these kids got left. Here is where James Barrie comes into play. We're not talking the usual seduction moves no, but another form of relationship. The boys are in the centre of attraction, all the time. Not only because they work as a cure against the director's cramp that he has been suffering, but also 'cuz that as he seize the ember in these young boys, he slowly begin to get a whole new perspective on life.

"Young boys should never be sent to bed... they always wake up a day older."

So, meanwhile helping Sylvia out with practical things, he's also writing his coming masterpiece: Peter Pan. This film is also a masterpiece. However, it's funny how I chose to see it at my 24:th birthday. Perhaps on some subconscious level, I'm starting to get real creeps about getting older. Shit, Life's a big scourge, right? Hrhr, guess a bit of sarcasm won't hurt! :)

7/10

Lost a tiny scrap by giving a somewhat slow feed somewhere in the middle of the film. Anyways, not sure if it was just me being in the mood for fast rising action, so I won't in any way disregard this marvelous masterpiece for movie.
