Movie: "I Am Legend" (2007)

How could I have missed this one? Exceeding hundred thousand votes at IMDb since long time ago, it seems like we're looking on a huge box office success. Well-earned though. It's a great film. Starring Will Smith as Robert Nevile, the last survivor after a new airbourne virus has spread all across NYC. Those infected with the virus becomes like wild animals, much like rabies. So, he's lived in his "bunker" with only his shepherd for company for the last three years, trying to find the antidote. You see, the reason why Robert didn't get affected is because he's immune to the virus. Why? He doesn't know. So, he's built up a lab in his basement, using already infected rats for test subject. One day he will see that he's not the only survivor in this mess.

This was a great film. Roadshaw Pictures (the Mad Max movies) behind the production. Heh, I must say I like the heat I've seen in their productions so far. Maybe Peter Jackson should have let them handle King Kong, and it wouldn't have been so friggin' lenghy slash periodically boring. However, go watch this film. During the end credits I noticed that the girl playing Robert Neville's daughter also had Smith for last name. Will Smith real daughter? Could be. Anyways, a really great film. I had lots of '28 Days Later' vibes, only that it didn't feel like the usual cheap copy, but original. Also some morals to it, we shouldn't be playing around too much with nature, because that way it could strike against us when we least expect it.

"God didn't do this. We did!"

7/10
