Movie: "Edward Scissorhands" (1990)

A classic perl from Tim Burton. Why is it that I havn't seen this movie before? I remember back at the video store. A fellow employer was almost a bit critical, like "WHAT? You havn't seen Edward Scissorhands? Just must be kidding me.."

Ever since that moment I knew I had to find time to watch it. Asked my beloved fiancé a couple of weeks ago, and _of course_ she had seen it. Also she seemed surprised that I hadn't seen it. So, we rented it the other night. Now, I have to admit it was quite a masterpiece. A really beautiful saga, is what it is. Nevertheless I couldn't help myself from getting vibes of watching more of a PG-rated version of Freddy Kreuger - a character who by the way has frightened me ever since I was a little kid.

"In a castle high on top of a hill lives an inventor's greatest creation - Edward, a near-complete person. The creator died before he could finish Edward's hands; instead, Edward is left with metal scissors for hands. Edward has always lived alone, until a kind lady called Peg discovers Edward and welcomes him into her home. At first, everyone welcomes Edward into the community, but soon things begin to take a change for the worse." (written by FilmFanUK)

I would probably not manage to write a better plot summary myself, so I just ripped that one straight outta IMDb. Own records? Well, the neighbour society presented in this movie reminded me _alot_ about Desperate Housewives, hahah. Couldn't bare to hold my laughter when I thought about it. Anyways, wonderful film. A real Christmas carol, or what do you call it? Also, this movie reminds me about 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' (2000). Probably a stolen/remodified plot idea. Now, I won't let go of Tim Burton. Time to go look on the shelves for 'Corpse Bride', his most recent work, an animated film from 2005. Havn't seen this one either. God damnit, where have I been at?
