Movie: "Lars and the Real Girl" (2007)

Must be a difficult part to play. Last time I saw Ryan Gosling was in 'The Notebook' a couple of years ago. However, this was a real odd movie. When I first read the short plot, I figured that it was about this lone wolf who meets a girl over the Internet and.. you know.. the whole story in it!

Now, this was not what I was expecting to see. Lars (Gosling) is a lone wolf, but you will soon notice that there are underlying factors in this, so it's not an easy thing to deal with. Lars is rather good-looking, so that isn't the problem. Take Margo for example, a girl sitting only one office booth away from Lars at his work, she's really reaching out for him - in vain. Oh, the garage where Lars lives in, is the garage of the house where Lars older brother lives with his pregnant woman. Karin is worried about Lars health, whereas his brother Gus tries to put his worries away in a locker, or at least he tries not to show them. However, one day Lars informs them that "he has a visitor" - this wonderful girl he has meet. Wow, finally. Lars seems to have finaly came out of his bubble. So they cheer, until they find out that Lars new girlfriend is in fact a sex doll; which he treats as like it actually was a real human being.

Interesting.
