A couple of movies..

It's been a couple of days, so I've seen a couple of movies, plus that I seem to have (forgotten) to two-line-review a few, so here I come, with a list of three recently seen movies; and of course the implied two line comment table on those. Now when "backtracking" my fulfilled work it seems to have become quite more than just two lines for some, hehe. My weekend? Just awsome. I feel so rested. Some (probably drunk) one had the impudence to call me at around 1 AM the night between Friday and Saturday. Fortunate, I had my cell on quiet mode. So, now it's Sunday. Sun is shining, just got here from a work interview over at Subway. Took myself time to get a waffle with soft ice cream over at Frasses. Yummy!

So..

My friend Eric told me about this film. Only by reading the IMDb plot summary, I realized this was something of a (new) The Substitute, hehe. Anyways, the movie was almost two hours, but it didn't feel so long. Guess that means the story was held together in a nice logical way. No loose ends or any other tricky part, just a great movie with a (SPOILER WARNING*) clean end. May seem a little bit utopical, when (according to my own belief) there is, in reality, no such thing as hardcore gangbangers turning friendly like dogs over.. well.. a foreseeable timeline. Ain't gonna happen, in real life. Me being cynical? World ain't gonna turn to the better if you don't believe in them? Well, that's not in my bag anyways. Not at the moment, anyways..

Not very entertaining. The story is really sad. It's the same issue that media has been debating for the last couple of years. Oil, islam, USA, terrorists, war. Anyways, when I was younger my first reaction was that the US was doing something righteous and true "keepers of peace", "just doing their voluntary work to make life better for lots of poor people", something like that. Now, when I've grown older, been reading (at least some) basic background stuff, I know that it's more to it than just the whole welfare certificate. It's a political issue, really. Oil is the big thing. Furthermore, I don't seem to get how (and why) people even think about "making fun" (in this discussed case that I'm thinking about right now; by caricature s in newsprint) out of holy characters that certain religions seem to value/respect over just about anything. Their whole lifes are built on this very essential. Trying to compare it with us Swedes and the Swedish church is not even possible. I can't get into my head how someone could be so friggin' stupid, knowing(!) that putting those images into print would mean the same as challenging something they should not even think about interfering with, just because it's way out of perspective for them. It's about the outlook on life; the big picture. Something huge. Anyways, that was personal emotions that should be here. Anyways, back to the motion screen. As far as I can see, this is a (true American) patriotic movie, even if they try to hide this fact by first and foremost the final scene (which nevertheless was pretty damn good; to be honest the best act in the whole movie). In total? Lots of action. The cuts on blowing bombs was well made. However, I get sad by watching these kinds of films, knowing how deep this problem really goes; and that it will probably be a cause of total world degeneration, perhaps even a 3:rd World War. So, I'd rather not think more about it. Howeve,r for those who is interested, Michael Mann is the producer behind this work of film, known from his role as director/producer for "Heat" (1995).

Layed back piece of film, just for easy watching a dull rainy day. Just like anything you've probably seen dozens of times already. Anyways, like I said, easy watching, you don't need to feel pressured to stay fully focused/alert throughout the film. Eat snacks, chitchat with co-watchers in between the lines, just do whatever you feel like. Suddenly your worst nightmare (SPOILER WARNING*) will appear on the screen, nothing hideous, just a cold-blooded killer, doing his/her thingie.
